Forest School

The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences over an extended period of time. This is done through taking part in a range of outdoor play and learning in a woodland environment.

We have ensured the children at Slimbridge get the greatest benefit from this experience by arranging for all of our classes, from Reception to Year 6, to take part in forest schools at the Redwood Outdoor Education Centre in Slimbridge, which is owned by the Ernest Cook Trust. They attend once a week for a term a year, building on their skills and confidence each year as they move through the school.
