Hello Class 2,
I hope you have all had a good half term and had some time to relax and enjoy yourselves. I have spent a lot of time reading and knitting (except I have had to pause as it’s full of holes)! We all have our fingers crossed we will be seeing you again soon!
Our new topic for this term is ‘From Farm to Fork’. We will be finding out more about farms around Slimbridge and in other parts of the world too. We will also be learning all about food! I wonder what your favourite food is? Mrs Clune has some fun activities planned for you to look at this week.
In writing this week we are going to read and get to know our new story ‘The Enormous Turnip’. There is a year 1 and 2 pack and a gentler pack for anyone reading pink/just beginning red reading books.
In maths this week year 1 are going to be learning about numbers and stretch all the way up to 100! Year 2 are going to begin learning about data and statistics, looking at tally charts and pictograms. There is also a gentler pack for anyone reading pink/just beginning red books.
For topic this week I have included a variety of activities for you to choose from. One of them includes writing a few questions you’d like to ask a local farmer. Mr Cullimore, Mr Rymer and Mr Smith have kindly offered to answer these questions for us so it would be great if you could think of some. Here is the guidance sheet – Home Learning Topic – Week beg 22nd Feb and below are the worksheets:
Please let us know if you need anything 🙂
