Posting things on the internet – be aware!

Instagram is an image sharing app which is getting more and more popular. Around 40 million photos are uploaded and shared every single day!

Did you know that you have to be 13 or over to have an account? Despite this, many younger children are starting to use Instagram to share pictures and chat with their friends. Despite the age limitations, there is really no way of stopping youngsters from using it, so we all have a responsibility to ensure children are safe by monitoring their usage and talking to them about safe image sharing.

Does your child have an Instagram account and do you regularly monitor it?

Have a look at this Parent’s guide to Instagram shared by www.connectsafely.org to help you with all basics.
